Bludenz mountainbike city

Bludenz, also known as the city of 5 valleys, is a relatively unknown mountainbike destination in the south-west of Austria. You can reach Bludenz by car or by train from nearby airports of Zürich, Innsbruck or Friedrichshafen.

It’s located at the foot the steep and raw singletrack of Muttersberg and nearby the friendly and cozy Brandnertal bikepark with some of the best tracks in the region, both of them are lift-accessed mountainbike spots. This little Alpine city originated in 830 AD. stationed at an elevation of 588m, and has over 14.000 inhabitants. In the region on the Northside of the Klostertal and Bludenz you can find pristine mountain forests of the European nature reserve “Natura 2000”.

The weather in Bludenz is usually a couple of degrees warmer than the rest of Vorarlberg, due the “Föhn Strich” of the Brandnertal. The ideal time to pay the region a mountainbike visit is between May and September. On the sunny Muttersberg singletrack the snow is already gone in March or April occasionally.

If you want to pay a visit to some local companies, you can pick up some fresh chocolate bars at “Milka Chocalate Factory” for on the trails. After biking you can enjoy a fresh brew at the “Fohrenburg Beer Brewery”. Some other attractions are the Stone Circles at the Bürserberg with its mystic energy meridians and the outdoor swimming pond in Klösterle.
